6th Grade at Davidson
Davidson is going to have 6th grade here starting the 2024-2025 school year! TUSD has selected our school to become a Pre-K-6th grade school. This is exciting for our kids and families that want to stay in an elementary environment that will better prepare their children for a 7th and 8th grade Middle School experience. We are creating what our 6th grade middle school addition will be and how it will operate. The children will emulate a true middle school experience that will include core classes and electives. The children will switch classes and have changes throughout their day. The district is assisting us with the instruction and operational design for our new 6th grade. We will communicate any new information as it becomes available. If you have any questions, please call us at the office (520) 232-6800.

What Makes Us Special
Davidson: The community's choice for a well-rounded, quality education.

At Davidson Elementary, parents, teachers, staff and students work together to help students love learning. Davidson celebrates the diversity of its students through high expectations, academics, the arts, technology, and inclusivity, fostering meaningful relationships in a nurturing environment to help students realize their dreams.

Every student ROARs at Davidson! ROAR stands for Respectful, On-task, Always Safe, and Responsible, and it is the foundation of our Positive Behavior Intervention System. Davidson has won awards for our PBIS Program from the Arizona Department of Education for three years in a row. We believe in the power of positive interventions and that every child is unique and special.

Davidson is a proud OMA (Opening Minds through the Arts) Gold School. Every Davidson student benefits from music, dance, and instrumental instruction throughout the year. Our fabulous Arts Integration Specialist collaborates with classroom teachers to integrate the arts with content curriculum.

At Davidson, we believe strongly in the benefits of inclusive education for all students. All students’ needs are met within the general education setting. Classroom teachers and exceptional education teachers collaborate to provide a co-teaching model. This results in higher expectations, greater academic outcomes, and increased social and emotional skills for all students.

Students, staff, and parents ROAR kindness at Davidson, where the Ben’s Bell Kindness Curriculum is integrated in weekly classroom lessons by our full-time counselor. Davidson students practice kindness through a wide range of activities and the language of kindness is practiced in classrooms and throughout the community every day. Each month, students nominate one another for the Kind Kid Award and two students are presented with Ben’s Bells at our assembly.

Every classroom at Davidson is equipped with an interactive whiteboard. This allows students and teachers to engage with and navigate information in new and exciting ways. Every classroom also has six student computers, and Kindergarten thru third grade classrooms each have a tub of five tablets. Additionally, there is one computer lab and two mobile COWs (Computers on Wheels). These are class sets of laptops that teachers share between classrooms.
Mr. Spikes the Bearded Dragon
5th grade student Giada Crocker holds Mr. Spikes and reads a book to him!Meet Mr. Spikes! He is a rescue that has been at our school for three years. He welcomes everyone to Davison from his "office" at the school's entrance. The students love to read to Mr. Spikes! 5th grader Giada Crocker says she likes that he listens to her and he is very friendly.
